News reports covering the novel Coronavirus outbreak serve as a reminder about the importance of effective disinfection procedures. PPM Services can offer disinfection options through a variety of disinfectants to reduce the risk to occupants of spaces from a small room to a whole office, classroom, shop or public building.

Disinfection procedures are recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Public Health England and advice should be taken from the Chief Medical Officer of England.  For Government advice please refer to this link  WHO updated information can be found at this link

PPM Services provide a variety of direct surface treatments with the most effective protection against COVID-19 likely to be by ULV (Ultra Low Volume) ‘air’ treatment.  This process allows for a space to be subjected to an application that converts specialist disinfectant liquids (active ingredients include Chlorhexidine and quaternary ammonium compounds) into micro-fine droplets, down to the size of 20 microns, that fill a void, disinfecting a greater surface area and improving the protection to the community within.  The treatment allows for large spaces to be treated in moments using airflow to maximise exposure.  Spaces need to be vacated for just over an hour with no residual smell so treatment can be managed to minimise disruption. The microscopic droplets can take 30 to 40 minutes to fall.  Treatment is swift, keeping costs to a minimum as the application time is relatively short.

In addition to general room treatments we can disinfect direct surfaces more precisely with an additional ULV electrostatic sprayer. This specialist sprayer puts a positive charge through the vapor as it emits, enabling the vapor to encapsulate up to 360 degrees around any object.

We can also eliminate airborne bacteria indoors with the use of our hydroxyl generator. This portable device uses ultra-violet hydroxyl technology to purify the air creating 'seek and destroy' molecules that eliminate airborne bacteria and odours, even in furniture. Technical Information:

The disinfectant we use has inferred efficacy against Coronaviruses due to proven efficacy against Caliciviridae (at dilutions of 1:50) and Vaccinia virus, the laboratory surrogate strain for enveloped virus claims (Coronavirus is an enveloped virus). We can provide the microbiological test data that supports the approval against  COVID-19.  Our disinfectant is NHS tested and approved  and conforms to EN1276, EN 1650, EN 13704 and EN 14476.  Details can be found here. NHS and UKAS results can be found here.

Treatment will kill the virus that may exist on a surface but it is of course possible for re-contamination at a later time and therefore any treatment can be either in isolation or as part of a wider protective service. Food preparation surfaces can also be treated but will need to be wiped down after treatment.

Thorough disinfection for homes, offices, schools, food preparation premises, vehicles, public spaces and facilities, retail premises, confined spaces, and much more.
