Clearing the home of someone who has died is one of the hardest jobs a family faces. We regularly clear properties for executors and solicitors, and we know it needs to be done with care, not rushed.
How we handle a probate clearance
- We agree with you beforehand what is to be kept, sold, donated or cleared
- Paperwork, photographs, jewellery and anything personal is set aside, not thrown away
- We work at a pace that suits the family, in stages if that helps
- Everything else is taken to licensed sites, with a waste transfer note for the estate's records
For solicitors and executors
If you are managing an estate from a distance, we can be your one local contact. We can collect keys, clear the property, and send photos and updates as we go. Our invoices and waste paperwork are set out clearly for the estate accounts.
Getting the property ready
Empty homes often need more than a clearance. We can also:
- Secure the property and carry out regular security checks, which many insurers require for empty homes
- Check for and treat pests, which empty properties often attract
- Clear and tidy an overgrown garden
- Carry out repairs and maintenance before the property goes on the market
When it is ready, our sister company Premier Property Management can let or sell the property if you would like.
